Ugly Sweater 5K and 10K
December is a busy month, so this race allows participants to complete a 5K or 10K any time between Dec. 1 and Dec. 31. Participants register online, choose their own course to run or walk, then report the results to Moon Joggers. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Feed My Starving Children.

Artful Yoga: Holiday Flow
Break out of the cold of winter as you ignite your mind during a gallery exploration and yoga practice led by Ashtanga yoga teacher Emily Bourland. Held at the Hunter Museum of American Art, participants are required to bring a mat.
Tennessee Running Tour – Trail of Tears
Take part in the longest state park running series in the U.S. during the Trail of Tears 7-mile run. This historic course starts and ends at the Red Clay State Historic Area lodge in Cleveland.
From the Ground Up!
Every Monday in January, ClearSpring Yoga will hold this workshop led by Anthony Crutcher to explore the elements of a solid asana practice. Asana practice aims to strengthen alertness, stability, and relaxation. This series is designed for beginners, but all experience levels are welcome. The cost for four sessions is $60, and registration can be done online.
Freeze Your Half Off
Run Chattanooga will hold a half marathon Jan. 14 and 15 to encourage physical activity in Chattanooga. This event offers both beginner and expert runners the chance to meet fellow athletes, support new goals, and build a community of movement-happy people. Walkers are welcome, too!
Pink! is a black-tie celebration of life event for breast cancer patients and survivors that will benefit the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center at CHI Memorial. Proceeds from this event help ensure the Center is able to offer the most advanced treatments and highest quality of care.

Join the American Heart Association in celebrating the 14th annual National Wear Red Day®, which aims to promote awareness about heart disease being the leading killer of women. This event encourages communities to take action and become more educated about cardiovascular health.
First Things First: Secret Keeper Girl
Dannah Gresh brings her Secret Keeper Girl tour to Chattanooga for a night of fun! This faith-based event for moms and daughters is full of high-energy music, dancing, and inspirational messages about true beauty, body confidence, and modesty. Recommended for girls aged 7 to 12 years old, the event will be held at the Chattanooga Convention Center. Early bird tickets are $17.50 and $20 after Dec. 16.
Cupid’s Chase 5K
Community Options invites runners, walkers, and rollers (baby strollers and wheelchairs alike) to this annual 5K event. Proceeds support Community Options’ residential and employment services provided to people with disabilities.
One Billion Rising
One Billion Rising is a global campaign held on Valentine’s Day to raise awareness about violence against women and girls. Stop by the Bessie Smith Cultural Center and join the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults crash dance party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Enjoy food trucks and live music, and raise your voice in the international movement.
30th Anniversary Heart Ball
Each year, community members, health care professionals, and corporate leaders come together to celebrate the lifesaving work of the American Heart Association. Contributions support cardiovascular research, professional and community education, and advocacy efforts. This event will be held at The Chattanoogan Hotel with entertainment from the Young Hearts Band.
HullaBOWLoo is the Chattanooga Area Food Bank’s signature fundraising event. Head to Wilson Air Center at 7 p.m. for a festive kaleidoscope of color, lights, live music, and gourmet cuisine – and join the effort to eliminate hunger and promote better nutrition in our region.
Siskin Possibilities Luncheon
This community-wide fundraiser will benefit Siskin Hospital’s charity care. Support for the annual Possibilities Luncheon provides patients in need with access to resources and support, helping them discover life beyond disability.
The Erlanger Chattanooga Marathon, presented by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, will highlight the unique qualities that make up the Scenic City. Runners can expect an exciting course unique to Chattanooga, which includes the Tennessee River, Lookout Mountain, Downtown, and more! Other races taking place that weekend include a half marathon, 5K, and Kid’s Fun Run.
This friendly competition will be held at the Walden Club and benefits the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer. Teams can bring wine to sample, vote for favorites, and have the chance to take home a new “cellar” of wine.
Denim and Diamonds
The 12th annual Denim and Diamonds fundraiser is organized by the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society, Medical Foundation of Chattanooga, and Medical Alliance. This evening benefits the Project Access community health care partnership and other local health initiatives. For 2017, the costume-optional theme will be “TV Land.”
