Why Fall’s the Perfect Time to Get Moving!
During the sweltering summer months, it might be hard to get motivated to participate in outdoor activities. But once fall rolls around and the air gets crisp and cool, opportunities to exercise and work outside abound, especially in the Chattanooga area. Biking or hiking nearby trails can pump up your heart rate and burn extra calories. Kayaking and canoeing are excellent workouts, and they provide a scenic way to take in fall foliage. Even seemingly pesky tasks like raking leaves can help build upper-body, core, and back strength. According to AARP, a 135 pound person can burn about 240 calories when raking leaves for one hour!
