7 Tips for Starting Your Day Off Right

Whether you wake up on the right side of the bed or not, here are seven easy practices to adopt that will help get your day off to a great start!

Don’t Hit Snooze

You know you shouldn’t. You do anyway. It’s a bad habit, so break it now. Start setting your alarm for the actual time you need to wake up, and put it out of arm’s reach. Once you’re up, stay that way!

Stretch

Get your blood flowing to start some cerebral processes and release a few endorphins with light physical activity.

Plan Ahead

Lay out your outfit the night before, pack your lunch, set your bag by the door, and fill out your “to do” list before you go to sleep. You’ll be ready to jump right into your day when you wake up.

Drink Water

Drinking one or two glasses of water right after you wake up helps replenish your dehydrated body and jump starts your metabolism by priming the digestive system.

No Phone

As useful as your phone is, it can add stress and distraction to your mind. Avoid it for this first part of your day and let your mind be quiet.

Make Your Bed

Create a calm tone in your bedroom and home by making your bed as soon as you wake up. It’s a simple task that helps your bedroom feel more relaxing when you return to it at night; plus it’s just one less thing to worry about.

Meditate

Take a few minutes for yourself each morning to quiet your mind. Use this time to find your balance, inner strength, and peace to help you tackle the day’s responsibilities.
