Saving Limbs & Renewing Lives
Christopher J. LeSar is perhaps best known for the passion he has for his profession. He’s been practicing the art of surgery for more than 20 years now, and he’s taken a particular interest in salvaging limbs that would otherwise be lost due to plaque buildup. In 2015, he saw a need in the Chattanooga community and launched his own private practice – an outpatient vascular facility that’s the first of its kind in the region. With countless consultations and surgeries under his belt, Dr. LeSar reflects on what motivates him to provide the highest quality care: “For me, it’s all about the positive stories we hear from our patients as they recover – being able to reengage in life, play with their grandchildren, walk down the beach, and complete a round of golf. I love giving people back their health.”
I believe my job is to love people and heal them with the surgical skills I've been taught."

1. What sets your practice apart?
Our patient care model is what sets us apart. At VIC, we’ve created a very specialized vascular medical team that addresses all peripheral artery disease (PAD) and venous issues our patients may encounter, allowing us to maintain the focus on the patient.
2. What is one of your happiest professional moments?
When a patient comes to me feeling all hope is lost, and we are able to assess, diagnose, and treat that patient, and give them back their health. I want to win for them.
3. What do you see as the most exciting new development for your profession?
The technology coming to the vascular surgical world truly enhances the outcomes for our patients. We will have the ability to see more, treat more, and prevent unnecessary amputations that occur daily in our region.
4. How does your staff enhance your practice?
Each staff member has been hand-picked to join our team. We are all here with one vision, one goal, and one mission to deliver excellence in patient care and provide an amazing patient experience.
5. What is your best advice for patients?
Never give up, and it’s okay to ask for a second opinion. Seek out who specializes in your particular problem and ask questions until you receive the answer that you need. Engage in your medical care!
