Ingredients
- 1 can
green jackfruit, drained very well
- 1
small onion, diced
- ¼ cup
water
- 1 Tbsp.
cumin
- 1 tsp
liquid smoke
- ½ Tbsp.
garlic powder
- 1 tsp.
paprika
- ½ Tbsp.
onion powder
Pink Himalayan salt, to taste
- 1 cup
barbecue sauce of your choice
- 2 Tbsp.
olive oil
Directions
Using your hands, pull the jackfruit apart into shreds.
Sauté onion in water until soft and slightly brown.
Add jackfruit and seasonings and cook for 10-15 minutes over medium heat.
Add barbecue sauce and oil and heat until sauce reaches desired thickness.
Serve on a whole wheat or ciabatta roll.
Top with your favorite slaw. Enjoy!
