These beginner-friendly hairstyles can keep your hair neat and fashion-forward in professional settings.
Five-Minute Updo
Inspired by a French twist, this polished hairstyle is both practical and stylish. Start by adding dry shampoo to your roots, if needed, to absorb excess oil and add volume. Gather your hair at the nape of the neck (like you are putting it up into a ponytail), and twist it upward and inward. Secure the hair with bobby pins or clips, and add hairspray for extra hold if desired.
Braids and Fishtails
Braids and fishtails are incredibly versatile, and a great way to keep hair out of the face while still maintaining style. Start by pulling your hair into a ponytail or pigtails, then braid to your liking! Leave as is, or pull the braided hair into a bun and secure with bobby pins. Adding in ribbons or other colorful accessories can make the look even more fun.
Slicked-Back Bun
This easy hairstyle is great for both clean hair and in between wash days. Start by pulling your hair away from the face and use a brush to slick it back until smooth. Add a styling cream or gel to reduce frizz and flyways and keep the hair smooth and in place. Gather the ends into a bun, adjusting as needed to get the shape you desire, then secure with an elastic or bobby pins. A light-hold hairspray can further lock the style in place.
Half-Up, Half-Down
A half-up, half-down look is perfect for when you want to keep your hair out of your face but still show off length. Start by styling your hair how you desire, then section off the upper half of hair. Pull the sectioned portion back into a ponytail or bun, securing with an elastic, clips, or bobby pins. For extra shine, add a couple drops of hair oil to the loose ends.
