As a woman, it’s important to know your body and to listen to what it tells you. It’s true that some conditions are symptomless, but if you know what to look for, chances are you’ll be able to tell when something is off with your body and your health.
For example, did you know that seemingly little things like sitting for too long can cause unsightly varicose veins, and a change in bathroom habits could be an indicator of ovarian cancer? What about how ostensibly harmless issues such as fatigue, nausea, or dizziness could indicate a heart attack? Or that an itchy, scaly sore or rash on your nipple could actually be an early sign of breast cancer? Noticing the subtle signs that our bodies give us can help us take preventative measures against potentially deadly conditions and can help us catch something early while treatment is most likely to work.
In this special women’s health section, we’ll delve into seven topics that affect women’s wellbeing. Flip the page to learn more about the importance of breast exams, heart disease, conditions that call for a hysterectomy, ovarian health, healthy skin, unsightly varicose veins, and menopause and what they mean for you as a woman. Looking out for yourself could be the difference between catching something just in time, or far too late.
