Summer Camps at High Point Climbing and Fitness
From the end of May to the beginning of August, kids ages 5-14 can learn the basics of climbing, including equipment usage, climbing techniques, and the importance of trust and communication during High Point’s half day camps. Each week-long session will also include a trip to the Tennessee Aquarium or the Creative Discovery Museum, a t-shirt, and goodie bag.
Chattanooga Market at Erlanger
Join the Chattanooga Market on Wednesdays at the Erlanger East Hospital terrace or on Fridays downtown inside the Erlanger Medical Mall for seasonal foods and local products. New for 2017, the year-round market is free and open to the public.
This two-day networking event is for teens who are interested in summer employment. The event will cover the basics of job applications, interview prep and tips, and making a good first impression. Lunch will be provided on day one, and a job fair will be held on day two.
Dancing with the Chattanooga Stars
The 10th anniversary of Dancing with the Chattanooga Stars features local celebrities in a dance-off competition to win the Grand Dancing Champion Award. Dancers from the Chattanooga Ballet will also perform. Funds raised will benefit Partnership for Families, Children and Adults.
EPB Strawberry Festival
Join the fun at one of the Chattanooga Market’s most popular events. A wide assortment of strawberry goods will be available including fresh strawberries, salsa, cake, candles, and more.
The Art of Breathing: Clarity
This 45-minute program held in the galleries at the Hunter Museum will be led by Hunter staff and yoga instructor Jonathan Ellis. Through meditation and breath work, this experience offers an opportunity to create clarity around your desires. A $5 donation supports the museum’s education program.
Center for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics Riverbend Run/Walk
Join the Chattanooga Track Club for this family-friendly festival event that includes a 10K, 5K, and 1 mile fun run/walk. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three males and females in the 10K and 5K with custom awards for the top three finishers in each age/gender category.
The 100 Dinner
The 8th Annual 100 Dinner by Crabtree Farms will give you the opportunity to gather with friends, old and new, to celebrate local food. The meal’s meats, vegetables, and more are all sourced from within 100 miles and will be accompanied by local beer and wine.
Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon
Join the Chattanooga Track Club and Team Magic for intermediate and sprint distance triathlons in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. Great for newcomers and veterans alike, the 35-year-old race includes a down-river swim, a moderately flat bike course, and a scenic run along the newest section of the greenway.
Red, White and Blueberries
Celebrate the 4th of July weekend at the Chattanooga Market. Enjoy all things blueberry including multiple pie-eating contests that will feature patron entries, vendors, and Hamilton County Court judges.
Movies in the Park
Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and strollers to watch a movie under the stars at Coolidge Park. Presented by First Things First, Movies in the Park will be held on Saturday evenings July 8, 15, 22, and 29. The event is free to the public.
Kids Cook Seasonal
Join Crabtree Farms and the Creative Discovery Museum for a children’s cooking class. Children will prepare a dish made from local, seasonal ingredients. The class will be held at the Creative Discovery Museum and is included with a museum ticket.
Chattanooga Heroes Run/Walk
Presented by Erlanger Hospital Trauma Services, this five-mile run/walk is held to remember and honor each of the five servicemen who gave the ultimate sacrifice on July 16, 2015. As decided by the family of the five servicemen, all profits will fund a permanent memorial to be built near the Navy Operational Support Center off Amnicola Highway.
