Choosing a Toothbrush

Q. Should I use a hard or a soft toothbrush?

A. The answer to this question is simple: a soft toothbrush is the best toothbrush for everyone. People with sensitive teeth or root exposure may benefit from an extra soft toothbrush. Hard toothbrushes can clean the grout on a tile floor really well but should never be used to brush a person’s teeth. Stick with a name-brand toothbrush—there really is a difference. A good toothbrush has bristles with rounded ends instead of bristles with sharp jagged ends. Some cheap toothbrushes still have jagged ends that can cause gum damage.
